The Blue Jacket

Recently I saw a prompt on instagram that said “post your jacket for National FFA week!”. If you follow my instagram you know I did a sappy collage of some of my pictures in my FFA jacket. This might seem like a simple little way of showing off FFA, but it impacted me so much more than that.

Second semester is really hard. There’s fewer breaks from school, classes get harder, FFA amps up, so do some other clubs, and the weather is always gloomy. I’ve found myself feeling unmotivated and stressed a lot of this semester so far. However, this simple prompt on Instagram reminded me of the privilege, opportunities, and joy that comes from wearing the blue corduroy jacket.

While second semester may be hard, and FFA can be really stressful at times, I find that just thinking about my blue jacket and all the memories made through it makes it all worth it. Words cannot express how much joy and useful skills FFA has brought me. Thank you to everyone who has helped me gain new experiences, friendships, and pushed me further in my FFA journey. I am so extremely grateful for all the opportunities, knowledge, and people this organization has brought me to, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me further.
