What does it mean to be thankful? To each and every person, this may look very different, but in general it means to express a feeling of gratitude.
To me, thankfulness is being aware of who God is and everything that He is given me, and what others have done for me through Him.
I’ll be the first to admit I’m not always the best at showing my gratitude for others. Often, I take for granted the things that I have, and even have almost come to expect them.
Each and every day that I am able to wake up and be surrounded by my family is a true blessing from God. I am extremely thankful for my family and friends who support me in everything I do. I am thankful that I live in a country where I have freedom and a sense of security in my home. I am thankful to be able to go to school and learn and grow as an individual, even if I don’t always enjoy it. I am thankful for this amazing organization and all of the opportunities that I have been given through my involvement in FFA, as well as my time as a District V officer. I am thankful for the agriculture industry and the resources that God provides through it that allow us to live a comfortable life. I am thankful that I have the amazing opportunity to show livestock on a local, state, and national level and for the people I have met and the connections that I have made through livestock. Untimately, I am eternally grateful for the promises that God has made to us and for the life that he gives each and every day. Nothing is possible unless he allows it. Not one breath, not one heart beat. I am so thankful for all that He has done in my life.
This Thanksgiving, my challenge to myself, and all of you to take a step back and look at all that you have been given in this life, and take some extra time to appreciate everything you have. Tell your people that you are thankful for them.
Have a great week DV!!
