Say Yes!

One day, towards the end of last year I walked into my SAE class expecting a typical period of just hanging out and catching up on FFA projects, when out of nowhere my ag teacher starts talking about this contest we had been invited to participate in. She went on about how we would have to make a product and pitch in under 48 hours and it would be so fun.

It’s safe to say me and the two other girls that would be my teammates, Eliza and Meghan, were pretty hesitant to say yes to doing it. It seemed like a really different contest than we were used to and that it would be really difficult. Despite this, we all decided to give it a go and do our best.

There are many times in our lives where we feel very hesitant to say yes. It might seem too scary, difficult, weird, impossible, or just too far out of our comfort zone. The greatest thing you can do, though, is say yes! No matter how the situation turns out, whether good or bad, you will always learn something. Every experience matters and can help you truly become the person you want to be.

Saying yes to competing in Make48 was an awesome decision! I learned so much about myself, gained amazing life skills, connected with great people, and got to spend time with some awesome teammates! Remember to take every opportunity presented to you because it will always make you better!
