Hello District V FFA! State Convention has just come to a close and the six of us are so exited for what this upcoming year has in store. One of the things we are excited for is to continue the blog! As a reminder, blogs will be posted every weekend and the officers will rotate weeks! We wanted to start this year off telling you all a bit about ourselves, read below to see our introductions!!
District V President, Marshall Frye

Hi, I’m Marshall Frye, your District President. Some things about me: I'm from Hamilton Heights, where I serve as Chapter President. (and the first district president from that school too), I'm a senior in high school, on my FFA side, my SAE is Forest Management and Products Placement which I run on my family's Christmas tree and flower farm. My contests range from forestry to prepared public speaking and from soils to skillathon. Even including meats, small engines, and Ag marketing. I can't wait for kickoff or the barn dance when I can finally get to meet who is in my district so that I can get to know each of you on a different level. I work for a custom cabinet maker and have always loved working with my hands. One of my side gigs in my free time is to play spikeball or pickleball with friends. I'm also a huge fan of classic muscle cars and anything with an engine.

I sell house plants that I grow through asexual propagation techniques, and I also teach classes on various plant techniques and macrame! Outside of FFA I am a nine year 4-H member of Tipton County, and involved in track, cheerleading, ecology club, national honor society, and student council at school. I also enjoy to participate in community theatre! In my free time I love to read a good book, care for my house plants, spend time outdoors, or hang out with friends! I am so excited for the opportunity to serve District V this next year!! I would love to chat with all of you! Feel free to reach out at anytime for anything! Instagram: kaitlyn_maruszewski
District V Secretary, Sidney Stinson

Hey District V!
My name is Sidney Stinson and I am proudly hailing from the Clinton Prairie FFA chapter, where I am currently serving as our chapter president. I am so excited to continue our chats and to spend another year with you as the District V Secretary! Within FFA, I love helping lead our chapter by leading committees, helping plan events, and organizing community service opportunities. I have also enjoyed growing my SAE in Swine Production. I have exhibited livestock for the past 4 years, now showing both beef cattle and swine. There is no doubt one of the places my heart lies is in the show ring. Completing these projects has allowed me to also become heavily involved in the Indiana Junior Beef Cattle Association and the Indiana Junior Swine Circuit. The opportunities with these organizations have also allowed me to become close with a lot of you guys! This year I am so excited to continue to make connections with every one of you! I absolutely adored getting to know so many of you this past year. Please don’t ever be shy to come and chat or reach out on Instagram! Thank you for allowing me to serve you, DV!

I’m going to be entering my senior year of highschool and am SO excited to be able to serve District V again this year. Inside FFA I am serving as my chapter’s president and am super involved in various ways. My favorite contests are parliamentary procedure and agriculture marketing! I also love prepared public speaking, agriculture communications, and agriculture sales. My SAE is in agriculture communications and I absolutely love it! I have a huge passion for sharing the story of agriculture and connecting with others and my SAE allows me to do just that! Outside of FFA I’m involved in NHS, 4H, and sit on the Women’s Council for A Kid Again. I also love hiking, traveling, playing the guitar, and working with dairy cows. District V Sentinel, Katie McClain

Hey, District V! I’m Katie McClain, proudly serving as your district Sentinel this year! I’m a junior at Carroll High School and enjoy being our school’s mascot and throwing in track. When I have some free time, you can find me with my friends or in the kitchen, experimenting with some new recipes. From a young age, all summer long I would be in the garden with my grandpa, so finding my SAE was pretty easy. With an SAE in vegetable production, each summer I plant numerous vegetables in a 2,500-square-foot garden. Of course, my love for growing plants led to my favorite contest being soil judging. Some close seconds are chapter meeting, ag sales, and demonstrations. As your Sentinel this year, I cannot wait to meet each and every one of you!
We are so excited to serve DV this year! Stay tuned for fun times, lots of blog posts, and more!
With love,
Marshall, Kaitlyn, Sidney, Mckynzye, Ellie & Katie
