Life is an Arcade

With people constantly rushing by, lights flashing, and a cacophony of sounds, arcades can easily captivate visitors for hours.
Whenever I step into an arcade, I am instantly reminded of a scene from a Percy Jackson movie in which the main characters are trapped in an arcade for several days due to the overwhelming distractions.
Arcades are surprisingly similar to our everyday lives. The constant noise and flashing lights can be similar to the demands of others, as people frequently ask us to perform tasks for them, while others rush by, preoccupied with their own agendas. Life would be much simpler without the relentless distractions that resemble an arcade following us around; however, sometimes that is simply unavoidable. Instead of letting the incessant hustle and bustle take control of your mind, implement some strategies to help you stay focused and on track.
Rule one: Don’t allow distractions to consume more of your time while you are trying to complete a task. For example, while trying to study, place your phone in a separate room or turn off all but emergency notifications. Companies are paying millions of dollars to get your attention on all of their apps so don’t give in.
Rule two: Don’t overfill your plate. When others ask you to do something, it’s perfectly acceptable to politely decline if you already have other priorities.
Rule three: Set clear goals and outline
the steps to achieve them. When you aim to accomplish something, create a step-by-step plan to break the project into manageable parts, making it feel less intimidating.
Life will always present challenges that can distract you from pursuing your dreams. However, if you find a way to navigate the chaotic arcade of life, you can easily achieve your goals.
