Holiday Changes

Hey District V,

I hope you are having a great start to your Saturday...or might I say Christmas Eve Eve!

I can not believe we are already nearing the end of December. This year has seemed to fly by. I swear if freezing time was an option, I would have stopped the clock hundreds of times. This year has come and gone with so many new changes.

Those changes seem to hit us a little harder than normal during the holiday season, especially the changes that don’t seem to be for the better. When we are faced with the familiarity of Christmas, it's hard to not reflect on the difference between this Christmas and last. Maybe there aren't as many gifts under the tree this year, maybe less family is home for the holidays, or maybe there's an empty seat at the table. All these changes can leave us feeling heavy, but there is one important thing to remember. You made it. Every hard thing that has come this year you have endured. You have grown and you have learned, and you are so much stronger because of it. That being said, if you are missing someone at your table or if your Christmas isn’t looking like everyone else’s I want to wish you a Merry Christmas. I hope during your holiday you reflect and are proud of yourself for making it this far and for facing every change you thought you couldn’t. You are strong, District V, and I am so proud of each of you.

Merry Christmas!

With love,

Sidney Julian
