Do the thing!

Hey District V!! I hope you all had a great spring break! Being a senior, this was my last spring break. It was bitter sweet! Sure, I’ll have spring break in college, but honestly once you’re out of high school, it’s not the same. As we’re quickly approaching the end of the year, I’m realizing how many things will never be the same, and that sits heavy with me. No more FFA contests. No more district leadership contests. I don’t get to run for chapter office this year for the first time in 3 years. I’m running out of class periods in the Ag room with my friends and advisor. I only get 1 more annual petting zoo. One last and final banquet, when upon closure I will no longer be a chapter officer. No more cross country meets. This will be my last year of softball ever, and I’ve played since I was 5. This will also be my 10th and final year of 4-H. All good things will come to an end unfortunately, FFA or not! But trust me, there’s a way to handle this without being sad at the end! And that is to be present in the moment while it’s happening. Soak it all in while you can! Take advantage of all that you can, and DO the thing. Don’t just go through the motions, DO IT and be in the moment! You won’t regret it!
Love always,
Kelsie Avery
