Decisions, Decisions

During this season of my life I’ve found myself faced with a lot of decisions to make. What classes to take next year, what prom dress to buy, what summer camps I want to go to, and more. I think decisions are hard for everyone in their own ways. For some people it’s not knowing which option will be better, for others it’s the change that will come with the decision they make. In every decision I always find myself questioning how will this decision make me feel in a week? A month? A year? How much of an impact will this decision have? Something that helped me with these overwhelming thoughts is to think about how the decision will impact different aspects of my life. I also take a moment to feel my emotions toward the decision I’m about to make. Does it make me happy, sad, or indifferent? Your emotions can tell you a lot about how you feel towards your decision if you only listen to them.
The next time you’re faced with a decision, no matter how big or small, I encourage you to step back and think about how your decision will affect the other aspects of your life. If it has a large negative impact on another part of your life, ask if it’s the correct decision to make. As always remember to take a step back and think through every option. Then, take a deep breath, listen to your emotions, and decide.
You’ve got this, I’m rooting for you!
