“We glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” -Romans 5:3-4.
Everyone suffers in their life, that’s just life. We all face trials of many kinds and go through countless storms. Sometimes it feels like we’re in a rough season and that we’ll never be able to get out of it, but let me encourage you!
There’s this woman I know who has been through countless struggles. From a few questionable living situations to losing her parents, she’s been through a lot. Despite this, she still radiates joy and love. I’ve talked to her about it a few times and she always brings up her gratitude for her struggles because they pushed her to stay strong through tough times and to hold on to hope. She also always stresses how they brought her closer to Jesus. She’s dealt with a lot of difficulties in life but she is still so joyful and works hard.
You will face hard times in life, it’s a given. They will come at you from all sides and make you feel like you can’t catch a breath. But I encourage you to look at the good side of your struggle, to see how what you go through can produce so many strong characteristics in you and can give you a hope that only comes from trials. I know what I’m saying can be harder than it sounds, everything takes work and energy. The question is, would you rather put energy into being sad and frustrated or into choosing joy and perseverance? Always remember that your hard times won’t last. You will come out the other side, and you’ll be much better for it! I also encourage you to seek Jesus in your sufferings, I can’t tell you how much he’s helped me get through mine and provided me with an unspeakable joy.
The team is always here for you, DV! If you need help with anything, or just need someone to talk to, please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of us! We love y’all and want to help our district in any way we can!
